The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged everyone’s ability to cope with stress. Managing stress is more difficult when we are taken out of our regular routines, dealing with a constantly changing situation and distanced from our usual supports. COVID-19 has created new life stressors and made existing ones even more intense. Remember it is normal to feel sad, stressed, confused, scared or angry during a crisis. We know nothing can replace the spa experience you get from in-person treatments, but we want to equip you with the knowledge and tools to take care of yourself. On the theme of self-care, we have put together kits for different parts of your body to practice at home. At the end of this weekly guide, you’ll learn how to take care of your body from head to toe.

Before you begin, set up your space by lighting an aromatic candle or using a diffuser. Our signature scent is TRANQUILLITY ™- blend of SWEET ORANGE, ROSE DAMASCEN AND CEDAR WOOD essential oils that offers a pleasant sensation of well-being. 

Next, put on some relaxing music. We suggest the Davines Calm playlist below:

 

 

Once you have your space set up, we suggest a breathing exercise. Place a few drops of the Tranquillity Oil in your hands and then cup them over your nose and mouth. Breathe deeply for 9 seconds - slowly inhale for 3, hold for 3, and then slowly exhale for 3. Repeat 3 times.

If you’re looking to boost your mood with a fresh coat of polish, quench the thirst of those dry hands and feet, or give yourself a full manicure or pedicure at home, we have you covered!

Lay out all the tools in the at home kit along with your favourite Zoya Nail Polish or keep it natural by using Naked Manicure Perfectors to enhance your nails natural beauty. Not only will your nails look good afterward, but reap the therapeutic benefits of healthy skin, blood circulation and mental wellness too! 

 

A pedicure will sooth dry skin and remove any callousness on the base of your feet. Use the foot care kit after your shower to help nourish those feet!

 

First, use our foot paddle to remove any dead skin from the bottom of our feet, then apply the Gehwol salve on any areas with visible cracks. Lastly, use Gehwol Balm around the whole foot.

HAIR at Home

We understand that finding time for yourself is not always easy. A luxurious bath or facial at home may not be realistic for you, but we think everyone can find 10 minutes once a week for self care. 

A quick way to give yourself some love is to treat your hair with a nourishing mask. We wanted to share some of favourite hair masks from Davines: Nourishing, NOUNOU, & MINU. 

First, wash your hair with the corresponding shampoo. Rinse and repeat. 

Second, ring out excess water and towel dry your hair. Apply the hair mask beginning below the ears and working it throughout the ends before working it up to the scalp. 

Next, listen to a 10 minute meditation where you give yourself some love. We suggest a love and kindness mediation like the one below:

 

 

Then simply rinse out the mask and style as usual.
