Covid-19 at Salon Fortelli & Spa

masks now optional

July 5, 2022

We would like to thank you for your loyalty and cooperation through the ups and downs of the past 2 years. The pandemic has been especially challenging for our industry but we survived with your support and are hopeful for the future. Our priority remains to ensure the health and safety of our community, our clients and our employees while maintaining the high quality of service you expect of us. We have always followed the public health guidelines and by doing so we were able to avoid any workplace outbreaks or staff to client transmission. Thank you for doing your part in helping us maintain a safe salon and spa environment.

Masks will now be optional for both clients and our staff. Each staff member will make their own decision based on their comfort level. If you would like your service provider to wear a mask please ask, we are happy to. Although COVID-19 will be part of our lives for the foreseeable future it is reassuring to see hospitalizations and deaths remain relatively low. We hope this continues as cases begin to rise again. We will continue to monitor the public data available and follow any advice from health experts as we strive to continue providing a safe environment for our clients and our staff.

With optional masking we ask that you please wear a mask when:

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please don't hesitate to reach out to us by email and our salon manager Josie will respond.

Reduction of Public health Safety Measures

March 21, 2022

Spring has officially arrived, Toronto is 90% vaccinated and most mandates have been lifted. While we are excited about these changes, we must still do our part to protect the most vulnerable. It is important to recognize that although most public health safety measures have been lifted the COVID-19 virus is still active in our community.  We want to respect individual choices and the fact that everyone has different comfort levels, risk tolerance and loved ones to protect. We prefer clients to wear masks but it will not be mandatory. The Salon Fortelli and Spa team will continue to wear masks.

The beauty and wellness industry is unique in that we touch our clients physically. This contact is what makes the relationship with your service provider so special but it also increases the risk of transmission compared to many other settings. Please be mindful that every time you receive a service at Salon Fortelli & Spa you are considered a close contact of your service provider. Close contact is defined by Toronto Public Health as “being within 2 meters for 15 minutes or more or having physical contact”.  This is why it is especially important that you stay home if you are sick with COVID-19 symptoms or if someone in your household tests positive.

Below is an overview of the health and safety measures that remain in effect:

  • Masks required for service providers. Masks preferred for clients.

  • Switch to passive screening for COVID-19 symptoms. Please stay home when sick.

  • Please sanitize your hands upon entry. Hand sanitizer is provided at the entrance and each station.

  • Extra time between clients for enhanced cleaning of workstations and disinfection of tools.

  • No waiting area, please come to your appointment on time and alone, no guests.

  • No beverage service. You may bring water or coffee to your appointment.

  • No DIY station, if you do not book a haircut or blowdry after your colour service you will be leaving with towel dried hair.

  • No physical distance required although plexi-glass barriers remain in place.

Salon Fortelli & Spa continues to be committed to providing a safe environment for both you and our staff. We appreciate your continued support as we navigate through this transition.
